An energy audit is an assessment, survey and subsequent scientific analysis of energy patterns and use within an institution, industry, health facility, building or a real estate complex with an objective of developing solutions to help cut the energy cost by more than 25% without affecting normal operations.

In addition to so doing, it is MANDATORY for all consumers of over 180,000 kWh of energy to conduct an energy audit after every three years and implement at least 50% of the recommendations of the ENERGY AUDITOR in order to comply with the requirements of The ENERGY MANAGEMENT ACT OF 2012 that is reinforced by the Energy Regulatory Commission (ERC) through the 2012 Energy Act.

The following are the steps for compliance within the 3 year cycle:

• Energy Audit

  Certified and trained energy auditors, engineers and consultants will undertake this function

• Energy Management Policy

  Gaussian Solutions Energy Engineers will formulate this policy based on the scientific analysis of the data from the Energy Audit.

• Energy Investment Plan

  Gaussian Solutions Engineers in conjunction with our financial analysts will develop this plan in consultation with The Energy Regulation Commission and with the concurrence from the client

• Implementation Report

  An annual implementation report of the Energy Audit will be prepared submitted to ERC.

• Keep records of energy consumption

  GSL will endeavor to help develop a record keeping structure and provide monitoring services.

Gaussian Solutions endeavors to offer our clients effective Energy planning roadmaps for purposes of Energy maximization in order to reduce electricity, LPG, Diesel and other forms of Energy bills. This is through monitoring energy trends and subsequent development of operational Energy Policies for optimization purposes without interfering with the output.

Our Energy Engineers and Consultants also work towards recommending on reduction of redundancies in the Energy function for purposes of cost cutting.

Our Energy Management function takes the following cycle:

1. Metering your energy consumption and collecting the data.

2. Finding opportunities to save energy, and estimating how much energy each opportunity could save. You would typically analyze your meter data to find and quantify routine energy waste, and you might also investigate the energy savings that you could make by replacing equipment (e.g. lighting) or by upgrading your building's insulation.

3. Taking action to target the opportunities to save energy (i.e. tackling the routine waste and replacing or upgrading the inefficient equipment). Typically you'd start with the best opportunities first.

4. Tracking your progress by analyzing your meter data to see how well your energy-saving efforts have worked
